The rainforest covers about 6% of the whole world. The amazon rainforest in South America is the largest tropical rainforest in the world. The amazon is the home for 1/5 of all plants and birds in the world. Africa has the second largest tropical rainforest. Madagascar used to be filled with the rainforest, but now not much of it is left. Still Madagascar has rare animals, which cannot be found anywhere else! Asia has the third largest rainforest; most of it is in Indonesia and a little bit in India and Borneo. Borneo has some unique animals.
Scientists say that the rainforest has the most trees in the world. It is 70% trees and 30% vegetation and wildlife. It can be found between the latitudes of 10N and 10S which is near the equator. The equator is the line that indicates hot places and that helps the vegetations grow in the rainforest.
